Latvian National Opera
It is the biggest and the best musical theater in the country and is one of the most beautiful in Europe. It was built as German Theatre in 1863 and was named as National Theter. After a fire in 1882, the theatre was rebuilt to its current state. The theatre become the National Opera House in 1919, and the National Theatre moved elsewhere.All the masterpieces of German, Italian, French and Russian opera of the 19th century and the best operas of the 20th century were staged on its scene.

Latvian National Theatre
It is one of the biggest theaters in Latvia. The theater was founded in 1919. From 1940 to 1989 it was known as Drama Theater and in 1989, the theater was given back its original name. It was completely restored and reopened in 2004. It showcases a variety of popular and exceptional Latvian theatrical performances. The theater has been always famous for its troupe, consisting of the best Latvian actors.

Dailes Theatre
Was opened on november 19, 1920. The Daile Theatre is distinquished by the fact that it is the only major theatre in Latvia to present regular productions of modern foreign plays. The Daile has performed in many other countries, including the united states, Canada, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Estonia and Australia.

Russian Drama Theatre
Riga Russian Drama theatre is the oldest professional theatre of Latvia and the oldest Russian Drama theatre outside of Russian Federation. In 2003 the theatre turned 120 years.
