A team of municipal, architectural and construction experts conducted the investigation this afternoon. There were no objections.
Even though the bridge is now slightly bent since its "overload test", it is safe and well-suited for use, Eduards Raubisko, head of the Dienvidu Bridge Construction Directorate said at a press briefing earlier today. Raubisko said that the deflection is smaller than the allowed norm and also all other criteria are met.
Raubisko said that he would give seven points out of ten to the bridge. "It is not perfect, it is not outstanding either, however, it is good," Raubisko said.
He pointed out that the bridge was constructed following a new system and is only the third one of its kind to be built in Europe. "I am glad that at the conclusion of my career I had the chance to head such a project," the chief of the Dienvidu Bridge Construction Directorate said.
