Wide exhibition of numismatics "The History of the Austrian Money From Antiquity Until Nowadays" in Latvia National Museum of History.
The exhibition uncovers the similarities and differences between the history of money in Austria and Latvia. There are several unique exhibits represented: one of the first coins in the world made from electron (natural gold), coins made from alloy of natural gold and silver and the first thaler coins, made in the city Halles in Tyrol around 1486.
Among the exhibits there are also coins from Austrian Romans - golden aureo and silver denario - deposit that was found 50 km from the Austrian city Linz. In addition to coins, the exhibition will offer the examples of Austrian medals.

The exhibition was organized in cooperation with Vienna Museum of Art (Cabinet of Coins), National Bank of Austria, National Mint of Coins of Austria, National Bank of Latvia and Latvia National Museum of History.
Working hours of the museum: Wed-Sun 11 AM - 5 PM, Mon-Tue - closed.
